Reef Garbage was born from a very practical problem: in reef keeping, most headaches don’t come from one single “big” incident, but from a series of small decisions made without context. You tweak alkalinity (KH), change a routine, adjust flow, feed a bit more… and two weeks later you no longer know exactly what changed—or what truly improved (or worsened) the situation.

We’ve all been there: parameters written in a notes app, photos lost in your camera roll, tests done “when you have time”, equipment settings you think you’ll remember… until the day you need to understand a drift and realize the history is missing.

Reef Garbage exists to fix that. The goal isn’t to build “yet another app”, but to give reef keepers a simple, consistent system to track their tank over time—and make better decisions.

Our approach is deliberately pragmatic: measure, log, understand, adjust. No magic, no vague promises, no one-size-fits-all advice that ignores the reality of your tank. A reef aquarium is a living ecosystem—variable, sometimes unpredictable. In practice, Reef Garbage brings together what most people end up managing in fragments: parameter tracking (pH, KH, Ca, Mg, NO3, PO4, salinity…), a readable history to visualize stability and trends, a logbook to record observations and interventions, equipment management (lighting, flow, dosing, skimmer…), and maintenance reminders designed to help without becoming noise.

The goal isn’t to stack “gadget” features. The goal is to make your tank more “steerable”: understand what changes, when it changes, and what actually had an impact. Because in reef keeping, it’s rarely the big decisions that save a tank. It’s the small, consistent decisions—repeated and tracked over time.
