Acropora cervicornis
Acropora cervicornis, known as staghorn coral, is one of the most important coral species in the Caribbean. It forms colonies of fast-growing, divergent cylindrical branches reminiscent of deer antlers. A species critical to Caribbean reefs, now critically endangered following white band disease and bleaching. Highly prized in aquaculture.
